A is a music teacher and member in a 90’s cover band. She and I had been chatting for a while about doing some promo photos for her music teaching, so when we were able to schedule I was excited to share a secret garden with her that screamed 90’s cd booklet art. I pushed the 90’s influence further and finished the photos to look like polaroids. We finally solved the decades long battle of Britney vs Christina, talked about why she loves music and teaching, favorite 90’s slang and snacks, and you know… whatever, had like, fun or something.
Maybe if I’d had a passionate music teacher like her as a kid I would have stuck with any of the three instruments I tried… as if. I probably still wouldn’t have been able to sit still long enough. Like A finding her passion through teaching, singing, and playing – my own passion instrument shall always be my camera. Photographing with A was all that and a bag of chips. Bringing her personality and interests to life was totally rad. I can’t wait to work with her “in character” with the band.
