This was easily the most relaxed wedding to photograph. Weddings can be tricky; I always want to make sure the family feels connected, that I’m not hovering and getting in their face, but still want to capture every moment. It’s a challenging, rewarding balance and I love it.
H + K were so fun, so content. Watching them it was easy to see how much they simply loved being in each other’s company. H told me they had a simple backyard ceremony planned in her Aunt’s garden. I arrived and it was gorgeous. H’s son was a part of the ceremony and walked down the isle with her.
I love couples who want to skirt tradition and have a day that reflects who they are, whether that’s hiking deep into their favorite trailhead, standing on the lakeshore, or celebrating friendship and love in the backyard where they grew up. This is what love means – finding someone to be yourself with, in every moment.
